Fusion Popiah Rolls

I made 8 popiah rolls for dinner the other day. So how was it? Hmmm, I will use one word to  describe it. DELICIOUS!! The girls requested for extra servings.  Dear hubby gave a thumb up. He said these rolls are so delicious that those sold outside are not even comparable. Yay! I am a happy girl today!

Doryn's Fusion Popiah Rolls

Ingredients:

1/2 large carrot or 1 medium-sized carrot, julienned
1 large zucchini,  julienned
1/2 medium-sized jicama/yam bean, julienned
1 corn
Cheddar cheese shreds
Meat floss
Honey & garlic barbecue sauce
Japanese mayonnaise
4 pcs wasabi-flavoured nori sheets, cut into half
8 pcs popiah wraps

Method:

1. Cut corn off the cob.

2. Mix in a pinch of salt if desired. This is optional and it is not in the ingredients list.

3. Steamed the corn till cooked.

4. Peel 8 pcs of popiah wraps from the thawed packet of store-bought wraps. Put it slice by slice on top of a clean tea towel in a steaming plate and cover the top with another clean tea towel. Steam for 5 minutes.

5. To assemble, take a piece of popiah wrap and lay 1/2 pc of nori sheet on top. Squeeze some mayonnaise on it. Spoon on top of it, the julienned carrot,  zucchini and jicama, followed by the corn. Squeeze some mayonnaise and barbecue sauce. Then spoon the meat floss. Squeeze some mayonnaise and barbeque sauce again and sprinkle with some cheddar cheese shreds. Be generous with the fillings and sauce.

6. Wrap and roll it into a roll.

7. Repeat with the rest of the rolls.
